This past week Mark and Stephanie operated on a 25 year old woman who presented with Meig’s Syndrome, which is an ovarian tumor with ascites and pulmonary effusion. It was the largest tumor that Mark has seen in his career. The patient almost died during the course of surgery because the anesthetist could not get oxygen to her lungs from the excessive weight and fluid accumulation in her lungs. She has had a remarkable postoperative recovery.

Cutting open the tumor. It was totally solid left ovarian mass. It will take two months to get the final path report.
